Hey guys. We’re excited to announce the release of v1.8 and the awesome addition coming with it – Fullscreen Mode.

Development History And Thoughts
Even though the older 1.7 version worked really well for the most part, one still had to occasionally use [Ctrl + Mouse Wheel Up and Down] or [Ctrl + “+” and “-“] in order to get the editor to properly fit the browser window, and even then it sometimes felt just a bit clunky as it frequently left several pixels out of the frame.

Our initial response to the feedback was to develop separate editor versions for each resolution (to make sure it would work properly no matter what). Even though we really tried to make that work during our alpha testing, it had its problems as users used vastly different default browser DPI/Fonts/Sizing for the same resolutions, which was frequently still resulting in deviations in several pixels or even more. It was also a bit of an overkill as an idea, and we sacked it before it even went to open beta.

We then knew we had to dig deeper into the code to make it work dynamically for all resolutions, browser versions and types, and browser settings. We had to gradually rewrite quite big chunks of the code but after a few hard months of development we are now finally ready to release it with the new patch.

Of course, the fullscreen mode will be released just as an option in addition to the already working version you guys are well accustomed to.

During the closed beta we fixed every issue we encountered. However, the mode is still to be tested on thousands of new various PC compositions. We’ll definitely appreciate any feedback to how it works for you guys, especially if you encounter any odd deviations from the previous version.

I really hope you’ll be left satisfied with that addition, guys! We’re always happy to release awesome new features to improve your editing experience.
